RE: EASIER ROUTE INTO PRESCOTT AZ??

Go, you'll love Flag in August...either route works (skull valley or thru Phx). The loop freeway mentio ed in early post is 101, but there is an even earlier connector now called the 303 that runs thru and around Sun City, shaves even more time. Google map it for reference.

RE: Fundy Coast Advice?

Lubec Maine, stay at Sunset Point, great little campground with bay views, good base for Campo Bello island and visiting East/West Quoody lighthouses, also FDR park on island is excellent. Uncle Zippy's has excellent pizza. If your going to stop at Hopewell rocks stay at Ponderosa Pines campground, only game in town after Fundy NP but very close for high/low tide observations and a very adequate facility.

RE: Bar Harbor

I am here now and still deciding on how we feel about it. We enjoyed the loop road and Cadillac Mtn. for the views. Bar harbor reminds me of many other tourist towns with many shops/resturants. I do believe the number of tour boats is rather nice but what I want to do doesn't start until late June. The CAT ferry is an awesome looking piece of equipment:) I'll buy the shirt and can say "been there, done that".

RE: Jacksonville, FL to Phoenix, AZ

Take I-10, route around Sn Antonio and see Johnson's ranch and Fredricksburg. East of Tucson is Benson where you can tour Karchner caverns, Tombstone and Bisbee.

RE: Would love your opinion on 2 month trip to NW in Fall 08

I believe Colter Village shuts down around Sept. 15th, there are other areas to camp though. Your trip sounds good, my only suggestion would be to go North from Glacier to the Canadian Rockies (also Glacier NP) for a week or so, since your so close, and drop the Bryce/Zion aspect since you've been before.

RE: new 08 flat tow Jeep liberty

I disconnect battery, takes about 8 seconds, the one time i didn't it cost me a new battery after a 12 hour tow.

RE: Are holidays difficult for you?

It's also happening to us. We are in Connecticut and we where headed to Boston until I found out memorial weekend was this weekend! Finally got a place up at Bar Harbor, we will have to see Boston some other time, for awhile I thought I'd be watching the 500 on satellite at China-mart.

RE: Ah yes the Trials and Tribulations of a full-timer....:)

Tony....my sympathies for your family. I cant relate on the dog/kid issue as I am sitting at Aces High campground in Connecticut. If they use workcampers here this is where you want to spend a season, I dam near cant see the other sites for all the grass between them. Lake, creek, trees and large sites, just beautiful. Hang in there, you will be back at "da beach" soon enough:)

RE: Utah RV resort nearly empty

We are traveling along the East coast and the park where we are at was full this weekend and most parks in the Northeast are sold out for memorial day weekend, we have to skip Boston and head straight to bar harbor to get a reservation. Also fuel is 4.05 and the food is high here (. we are in Mystic seaport area at "Aces High" RV park (excellent-very large grassy sites).

RE: No more UFO'S

Chuck, the Rexhall looks great but has serious design flaws that I hope they rectify in production. The one I eyeballed at Quartzite you couldn't hardly get at the hookups due to the configurations in the underbay, almost like it was an afterthought in the design process.

RE: Help-Tire problems

OHDH...thanks for the heads up. I have heard/read both positive and negative on the KOA but location is perfect. I will check Pine Hill. What tiruck tire shop do you recommend? I will call and make an appointment for the week I am in the area. I would also like to meet you and have a"sticky bun" in Easton? I will send you a PM.

RE: Help-Tire problems

Planning on staying at the Allentown KOA, born and raised in Easton area (8 years) and will be checking out the old area. Any references will be appreciated, not sure I can wait until then but it isn't to far from DC and would rather deal with someone that comes recommended. If there is a better campground then the KOA I would also like that info.Tanks.

Help-Tire problems

I am on an extensive trip and presently sitting 70 miles South of DC at Flying J. Can anyone recommend a reputable tire dealer in the DC area where I can get a front end alignment and 2 new tires? I will be at Cherry Hill for a week so have time to setup appointment. Seems my front tires are wearing on the side of the tread on the outsides so I am thinking alignment problems? Plenty of meat in the middle as I only have 26K on these-rears look good. Any opinons welcome as I am not sure how far i want to trust these puppies beyond Dc-will also be in PA for a week before going to Liberty Harbor in NYC if anyone can help in that area.Thanks.

RE: Shortcut to Kinder, LA (Red Shoes CG/Coushatta)

I always get off the 10 at 165 and it's about 34 miles North, they are widening the highway to 4 lanes and even with the construction it's an easy ride. We where just there early march on our way to Florida....please say Hi to my 100 dollar bill at the black jack tables:)
